Follow My Build
Privacy Policy
Effective October 26, 2026
American Adventure Lab operates Follow My Build at followmybuild.com. This policy explains how information is handled in this vehicle build management service.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, profile photo, account identifier, and sign-in records. When you choose Google sign-in, Google supplies your basic profile and verified email. Authentication records may include OAuth tokens returned by Google.
- Build information: contact details, vehicle year, make, model, submodel, modifications, and other vehicle details you or your shop supply; uploaded photos and files; requests, messages, estimates, approvals, signatures, scheduling details, and progress updates.
- Operational records: staff assignments, time entries, permissions, audit events, and technical information used to operate and protect the service. Web requests may produce IP address and browser logs. Signature records include hashed IP address and browser information.
How We Use Information
We use this information to authenticate you, enforce access permissions, manage build work, record decisions and signatures, communicate about your projects, troubleshoot problems, and protect the service. Essential cookies maintain sign-in sessions and protect authentication requests.
Google User Data
Google sign-in requests only basic identity scopes: openid, email, and profile. We use Google account information for sign-in, account identification, and displaying your profile. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Drive files, Calendar, or Contacts. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements where applicable.
Who Can Access Information
Customer build drafts, their vehicle details, and their photos stay private to the drafting customer until submission. Submitting a plan shares it with the shop for review. Authorized shop staff can access submitted information needed for their role. Customer access is limited to the customer account and builds the shop shares with that customer. Uploaded files are private and accessed through authorized, expiring links. A separate media-consent decision controls permission for promotional use; uploading a photo does not itself grant that permission.
Service providers process information needed to operate Follow My Build. These currently include DigitalOcean for hosting, Google for optional sign-in, and Resend for transactional email. We may disclose information when necessary to comply with applicable law or protect the service and its users.
Optional AI Drafting
The shop can enable an optional document-template drafting feature. When configured and used, the work types, jurisdiction, and clauses entered by authorized staff are sent to OpenAI to produce a draft for human review. The feature does not automatically include customer records, vehicle photos, signatures, or Google profile information. Staff should not enter personal customer information into drafting fields.
Retention and Your Choices
We retain account and project information to operate the service and maintain build, approval, and business records. Signed documents, decisions, and audit records are designed to preserve their history. Retention depends on the record's purpose and applicable obligations; account closure does not necessarily remove records needed by your shop or retained in backups.
To request access, correction, account closure, or deletion, contact brit.mansell@americanadventurelab.com. We may verify your identity and coordinate with the shop that manages your records. We will explain any records that must be retained. You can revoke Google access in your Google Account connections. Revoking Google access does not by itself delete Follow My Build records. Email-link sign-in is also available.
Updates and Contact
We will update this page when the service's data practices change and revise the effective date. Privacy questions can be sent to brit.mansell@americanadventurelab.com.
